Our Story
It all started with a dream, a rolling pin, and a whole lot of heart. When Sherrie Keen moved to Loris, South Carolina, from Kentucky, she brought with her not just a love for baking but a legacy. Inspired by her grandmother, Mattie Jane—the woman who taught her to bake with love and soul—Sherrie set out to bring a little sweetness back to the town. After all, Loris hadn’t seen a bakery in over 40 years.
But this wasn’t just Sherrie’s journey. It was a family affair. Her son, Jay, and his husband, Josh, left their life in sunny Florida, sold their home, and moved to Loris to help Sherrie make her dream a reality. For a year and a half, they poured their hearts into the bakery, but something was missing. The space wasn’t inviting—it didn’t have the warmth or room for customers and the community to gather and connect.
After Christmas 2024, they decided it was time for a change. They closed up shop, rolled up their sleeves, and spent two months transforming the space into something Loris had never seen before. On February 22, 2025, they reopened as a coffee shop—a space brimming with charm, comfort, and community. Now, with even more delicious offerings and a cozy spot to sit, sip, and stay a while, they’ve created a place where everyone feels at home.
